Frank John Marin, 84, of Canonsburg, died Monday, February 29, 2016, in his home.
He was born June 14, 1931, in Bethel, a son of the late John and Susan Drost Marin.
Mr. Marin was Catholic. He served his country in the United States Army, receiving several medals for his service in Korea prior to his honorable discharge.
Prior to his retirement, he worked at Canonsburg Pottery, as a Kiln Fireman.
He was a member of the Polish National Union, the White Eagles, and enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with his wife. He enjoyed trips to the Casino, and was a very self determined man.
Surviving are his daughters, Pamela Wingard, and her husband, Robert Jr., of McDonald, Kathryn Marin, of Pittsburgh; brothers, Edward, John, Eugene, Richard, and Robert Marin; sisters, Diane (Mitch) Sutherland, Barbara Woodruff; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Jane Marin, who died April 10, 2015, brothers, Bernard, Thomas, David, and Anthony Marin; sisters, Mildred and Catherine Marin.
Friends will be received Saturday, March 12, from 10-11am, the time of services, at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Interment will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg, with full military rites accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191, honor guard.
