Elizabeth P. Politan, 92, of Washington, died Sunday, October 9, 2016.
She was born August 15, 1924, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Steven and Mary Meszarus Setto.
Ms. Politan was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, playing bridge, and restoring antique furniture. She was a world traveler sailing the Nile River, walking the Great Wall in China, and visiting the Kremlin.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as an inspector for RCA.
On June 27, 1943, she married Joseph D. Politan, who died February 10, 1980.
Surviving are her son, Joseph Politan, and his wife Kathy, of Houston; daughter, Cassandra Politan, of Washington; former daughter-law Nancy, grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Payne, Chad (Kristen) Politan, Melissa Politan, Jason Politan, Rebecca (Levi) Shamblin; three great grandchildren, Audrey, Kenni and Calypso; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Wayne Politan, who died June 6, 2009; brothers, Steve, Paul, Joseph and John Setto and Louis Bartok; and sister, Mary Andrachick.
Friends will be received Thursday 2-7 pm at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. Departing prayer services will be held in the Sollon Funeral Home, Friday, at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
