Stephen R. Jackson, 77, of Coraopolis, formerly of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
He was born October 17, 1943 in Pittsburgh, a son of Jesse James and Glendora Rainey Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was an active member of St. Steven's Anglican Church, Sewickley, where he played Bass guitar with in the music ministry.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for several years at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
On July 19, 1996, he married his wife, Selma Johnson-Jackson, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Phillip Jackson, and Stephen Jackson, Jr.; his daughter, Stephanie Herriott; grandchildren, Troy Jackson, Carley Jackson, Stephen Jackson, Miracle Jackson, and step-grandchild, Bre Crowley; great-grandchildren, Caiden Smith, Alexander Dorsey, and Renesmae Dorsey; his first wife and long time friend, Amelia Jackson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brothers, William Jackson, James Jackson, Douglas Jackson, and his sisters, Rayette Jackson, Gloria Johnson, and Glenda Napper.
Due to uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation. Services and burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, are private.
