Ronald Rothka Obituary

Ronald  George Rothka , 79, of Canonsburg, died on January 3, 2024.  

He was born on August 11, 1944 to Joseph and Margaret Gardner Rothka. Ronald worked as a mechanical assembler for McGraw Edison. On May 6, 1967 he married the love of his life Mary Toplisek Rothka . They shared 56 years with each other. Ronald was an avid sports fan from coaching to watching the professional games. He loved bowling, but most of all loved spending time with his family. His wife, kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his entire world.

In addition to his wife, Ronald  is survived by four sons, Ronald Rothka, Jr. of Eighty Four, Timothy Rothka of Fairfax, VA, John (Samantha) Rothka of Washington, Michael Rothka of Cranberry; four daughters, Mary Margaret Rothka of Canonsburg, Elizabeth (Phillip) Rothka Adams of Canonsburg, Teresa Rothka of Washington, Veronica (Andrew) Rothka Phillips of Washington; brother, Joe (Lois) Rothka of Clarks summit ; two sisters, Carol Mazurick of Raleigh,NC Gladys Millazo of Williamstown, NJ; twenty-six grandchildren, Joshua (Andrea), Jacob,Jessica, Sydney, Spencer  Rothka, Kaylee (Steve) Macevic, Zachary Kovac, Devin , Madison Liberatore, Caitlynn Rothka, Samantha (Jacob) Moore, Kerrigan, Sean, Tyler Rothka, Harley Steele, Morgan, Matthew, Emily  Rothka, Skyler, Michael, Austin, Grace  Adams, Aydin Goehring, Legend  Campbell, Sayler, Kensley Phillips; eleven great-grandchildren, Nick, Rowen, Kellin, Lilly, Jack, Alaya, Titus, Max, Andrew, Alister, Kamari; . Numerous nephews and nieces. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Rothka Sr., sister, Barbara Lupi, grandchildren, Mark Rothka Jr., and Alexander Campbell.

Visitation will be held Monday January 8, 2024 from 6-8pm, Tuesday January 9, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm  and  Wednesday 9:30am-10:30am at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000. Departing prayer will be held in the funeral home, Wednesday at 10:30am, followed by divine liturgy at 11am, in St.Michael Byzantine  Church.

Internment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, with full military honors.
