Ronald John Bock, Sr. 84, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
He was born July 20, 1937 in Pittsburgh, a son of George and Stella Piroth Bock. On June 1, 1963, he married Norma Jean Rodgers.
Ron was very strong in his faith, and proud to serve and share the word of our Lord.
He proudly served his country in the Marine Corp and was very patriotic.
Prior to his retirement, Ron worked as a finisher for McGraw Edison. He enjoyed playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, and especially spending time with his family. During his stay at Townview Health and Rehabilitation, he was president of the resident council, and the "unofficial Mayor".
Surviving are sons, Mark (Valarie) Bock, of Canonsburg, Brian (Mindy) Bock of Cecil, brothers; George R. Bock, Sr., of Washington state, Allan J. (Dale) Bock, of Cranberry Twp, and, David (Marcia) Bock of Houston, sisters, Betty Ann Dombrowski of Canonsburg, Carol (Joe) Best of Canonsburg, and Rosemary Smith of Washington; grandchildren, Jeremy (Cara), Bethany (Glenn), Jocelyn (Nikki), Brandyn, Dina, Alexa; great grandchild, Nicholas Dudicz; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Norma Jean Bock, who died on January 19, 2021; son Ronald Bock, Jr., who died December 7, 2020..
Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held at 11 am in the funeral home on Wednesday. Full military honors will be accorded by the VFW #191 Honor Guard and the US Marine Corp.
Interment will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorials be made to Wreaths Across America, www.wreathsacrossamerica.org, in Ron's name.
