Obituary
Rena Stanko, 89, of Canonsburg, went gently into the arms of our Lord and Savior on August 30, 2023. She was born on June 8, 1934, in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late Lorenzo Comis and Marianna Doriguzzi Comis of Casada, Italy. She graduated from Canonsburg High School in 1953, and married her true love, Thomas Stanko, on December 26, 1953, prior to Tom deploying to Korea to serve our country. Rena was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, who lived her life in service to God, her family, and her community.
Rena is survived by her son, Thomas Kevin Stanko of Canonsburg, her daughter, Rebecca Lynn Mastrangelo (Mark) of Boulder City, Nevada, her brother, Bartolo “Jerry” Comis and his wife, Kathy, of Pittsburgh, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and her sisters, Jo Comis and Lieta Comis. Arrangements are private and entrusted to Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
