LaVerne Schury

LaVerne  Schury, 81, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, January 6, 2022 peacefully in her home.

She was born July 30, 1940 in  Canonsburg, a daughter of  Martha Petrosky Gubasko. 
LaVerne worked as a nurses aide for thirty-eight years, at Canonsburg Hospital.

She enjoyed sitting on her porch looking at her flowers, a big Steeler fan, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters, Joy (Robert) Ranko, of Washington, Marybeth (Ronald W.) Golna, of Washington, her son, Charles (Vickie) Schury, of Washington; seven grandchildren; Rob (Katherine), Jonathan (Charlotte)  Ranko, Meredith (Brad), Ron (Ashely) Golna, Samantha, Bo, and Miranda Schury; great grandchildren Izzy, Lucy, Remington, Easton, Kayden, Kennedy; and her former husband, Charles E. Schury.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Gubasko and her sister, Betty Ewig.

Services are private an entrusted to  Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, owner/supervisor, 724-746-1000.
