Koltan Kobrys Obituary

Koltan Cash Kobrys, just 26 years old, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from a drug overdose. The reality of Koltan’s sudden death is devastating to his family, friends, coaches and all who knew him.
Originally from Avella, His early education began there and later he attended Fort Cherry high school, where #5 was a joy to watch on the football field. He attended Edinboro for one year, and graduated from Penn Commercial in 2017. He most recently was working as a welder for New England Mechanical in Virginia. From a very early age he spent many hours at the Hickory ballfields. He loved hanging out with his friends and family and being a little brother or a big brother to whom ever needed one, and he had an endless amount of “brothers”. Anyone who knew Koltan was touched by his kindness, humor, and loving disposition. His laugh was infectious. He was a snuggler, a gifted athlete and hated wearing socks. He enjoyed his dirt bikes and quads. He could drive a car at 12 years old, and did. He loved going up to Conneaut Lake with his family and giving them rides on his boat. It was his happy place. If you couldn’t find him it was because he was zipping around somewhere on the golf cart. He loved making fires and could roast you the perfect marshmallow. He dearly loved his nephews and nieces and truly enjoyed playing with them. We will see him everywhere, baseball caps, wrappers on the floor, his silhouette on the lake, and the random one black sock. He will continue to stay with us through our memories. He was special, we knew it and he knew it. He got away with pretty much everything with those dimples and that little grin ... until he didn’t. Hold and hug your loved ones ... up to and until you can’t.
He leaves behind his grieving and heart broken mother Camille and father Alan. His Brother Beau (Laken), nephews Linik and Ryzer. Brother Mitchell (Lindsey), nieces Lydia and Tessa. Grandma Jo, Pap Chuck, and Grandma Fran. Cousins Chelsea, Tyler, Haley and two of the original rat pack, Kayla and Riley. Nolan, Krystal and Ashley. Christine and Gary (Apples). Chuckie, Dylan, Chad, and Adam. Several dear aunts and uncle’s and his beloved Morgan Lucy.
Preceded in death by the “old man“, pap Kobrys, grandpa Jerry and uncle Larry.
