Jerome D McClain, Jr., 63, of Washington, died unexpectedly Friday, January 21, 2022 in UPMC Montefiore hospital. Jerome was born in Canonsburg, August 1, 1958, a son of the late Jerome and Annie Pickens McClain. He was a lifelong resident of the Canonsburg and Washington communities. He was a graduate of Canon- McMillan High School and worked as a construction laborer for various contractors prior to his retirement. Jerome was a former member of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Jerome was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family. To know Jerome was to love Jerome. In addition to spending time with his kids and family, Jerome was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Other than holidays, Jerome’s two favorite activities were attending the Canonsburg Fourth of July Parade Celebration and Canonsburg’s Kennywood Community picnic day.
Jerome is survived by his sons Jerrrell (JD) Markovitch, Jeremy McClain and Brian Saffel of Washington, MSGT Terrell McClain (Valerie) of Ramstein, Germany; two sisters, Eva Kelly (Tommy) and Sheila Bennett (Kenny) both of Washington; three brothers, John McClain of Washington, Stevie McClain (Rochelle) of Pittsburgh, and Richard MCClain, of California; and his lifelong companion Stacey Fields, of Washington. Jerome has 9 grandkids. Damian, Harley, Brynn, Kaia, Bentley, Braden, Jeremiah, Mason and Zach, and a host of nieces and nephews. Jerome was preceded in death by both his parents and a brother Gregory MCClain.
Friends and family are welcome Friday, 1-4pm, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, Ltd., Canonsburg, PA, 15317, Phillip L. Sollon, Supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held Friday at 4pm in the funeral home with Rev. John Pitts and Joyce Pitts, officiating.
