Hilda Iona LoGreco, 98, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, December 19, 2020, in Strabane Woods.
She was born January 28, 1922 in Cuddy, a daughter of Harold and Alice Hall Bowns. On October 18, 1942, she married Nick LoGreco, who died on September 26, 2009. She was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a pop-riveter for an airplane manufacturer in Detroit.
Mrs. LoGreco was a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star #97, the United Women and was a member of the Canonsburg Hospital Women Auxiliary for 42 years.
Surviving are her sons, Kenneth (Elizabeth) LoGreco of Canonsburg, and Robert (Shelia) LoGreco of Canonsburg, four grandchildren, Nicole (Michael) LoGreco-Joos, Alison (Jason) McClain, Michael (Julia) LoGreco, Mark (Kristen) LoGreco, 8 great-grandchildren, Megan and Olivia Joos, Logan and Carson McClain, Madeline, Grayson, Perry Grace, and Parker LoGreco.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Bowns, George Bowns, Jack Quear, her sisters, Ruth Valentino, Doris Oelschlaeger, Emajean Brown, Fredda Domick, and her great-grandchild, Abigail E. Joos.
Due to uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation. Arrangements entrusted to the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation and thank you to the staff at Strabane Woods, Gateway Hospice, and Virginia Skowvron, for the excellent care given to Hilda.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, the Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department, or St. Jude's Children's research hospital, in Hilda Iona LoGreco's name.
