George Pihiou, 94, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
He was born November 19, 1926, in Canonsburg, a son of Demitrius and Stella Mantalis Pihiou.
Mr. Pihiou was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Canonsburg. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and expert trap shooter.
He was a member of the Canonsburg Sportsman's club, and went to the Canonsburg Senior Center.
Prior to his retirement, he worked at McGraw-Edison.
Surviving are his brother, Andy Pihiou, of Canonsburg; his nephews, James (Debbie) Silvestros, Stanley (Becca) Silvestros, Larry Silvestros, George Silvestros, James (Renee) Pihiou, James (Tricia) Pihiou, George (Dia) Pihiou; nieces, Sandy Castro, Connie (Bill) Douglas, Maria (Andrew) Poulis; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Pihiou; and his sisters, Alice Angelo and Mary Silvestros. .
Friends will be received Friday, 11am-1pm in the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 West McMurray Road, Canonsburg, 15317.
Services will be held at All Saint's Greek Orthodox Church, on Friday, at 1pm with Fr. George Athanasiou, officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Interment will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg, with full military rites accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191, Honor Guard.
