Father George L. Livanos, 58, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, July 1, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family.
Today, we commemorate into our hearts the unmeasured joy exemplified in the life of Father George, a humble servant of the most high God in the Greek Orthodox Christian Church of America.
He is dedicated into our memory as a larger than life figure, full of child-like joy, and humor. For thirty-four years, he was blessed to minister faithfully to His Church community of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, in Canonsburg, and became a friend or mentor to nearly all whom he met on the road of life. May he be found worthy by our Lord God to attain everlasting life and joy in salvation.
He was born September 16, 1962, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Leonidas G. and Maria Kavouras Livanos.
On May 26, 1985, he married his loving wife, Dianthe Papouras Livanos, who together in faith raised seven children, and are grandparents to nine grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his mother, Maria, and his wife, Presvytera Dianthe, are his sons, Micah (Zeina) Livanos, Seraphim Livanos, Vikentios Livanos; his daughters, Kassiani (Fr. George) Callos, Evstolia (Griffin) Fahling, Mariam (Marios) Adamakis, and Apollinaria Livanos; and nine grandchildren.
Father George was preceded in death by his father.
