Ethel Jean Schmidt, 79, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
She was born May 14, 1942, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Russell and Ann Lunn Bowland.
Ethel enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, crafting, loved Elvis, and especially spending time with her family.
On March 16, 1957, she married the love of her life, Edward Schmidt, with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage, who passed away January 13, 2021.
Surviving are her daughters, Kathy (John) Belleno, of Houston, Stacey Schmidt, of Oakdale, Edwina "Winnie" (Gabe) Vercher, of Marksville, Louisiana, Mindy Fowler, of Uniontown; her brother, Richard Bowland, of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Belleno, Sean Davis, Anthony Terry, Raymond Terry, Zackary (Elizabeth Brown) Schmidt, Jessie (Matt) Menhart, Samantha (Jeff Walden) Fowler, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ethel was preceded in death by her brothers, James, and Daniel Bowland; and her sister, Leoda Dicey.
Friends will be received Monday, 3-7pm, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held Monday at 7pm, in the funeral home with Pastor Frank Menhart, officiating.
Burial will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
