Edward G Marin, 89, of Canonsburg, died Friday, January 27, 2023.
He was born July 19, 1933, in Coverdale, a son of John and Susan Drost Marin.
Mr. Marin was a devout Catholic. He loved praying the Rosary, and was a member of St. Oscar Romaro Parish, and regularly attended St. Patrick Church.
Prior to his retirement, he worked at the former McGraw Edison, in Canonsburg.
He was a member of the Slovak Club, the Polish National Union, 116; and the White Eagles, in Canonsburg.
On September 12, 1956, he married his loving wife Leona Morrison Marin, who died October 21, 2005.
Surviving are his sons, Edward X. Marin, of Canonsburg, Gregory F. (Brenda) Marin, of Biloxi, Mississippi; daughters, Debra (Dennis) Abbott, of Washington, Mary T. (Scott) Barnes, of Williamsburg, Virginia; brothers, Eugene and Robert (Sarah) Marin, both of Muse; sister, Diane (Mitchell) Sutherland, of Eldridge, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Marin; brothers, Frank, John, Anthony, David, Richard, Thomas, and Bernard Marin; sisters, Mildred Marin, Reta "Barbara" Woodruff, and Katherine Marin.
Friends will be received Monday, 2-4 and 6-8pm, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Departing prayers will be recited in the funeral home Tuesday, at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, in St. Patrick Church, at 10am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
