Edith Mae "Edee" Smittle, 81, of North Strabane, died Sunday, September 30, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 10, 1936, in Gilmore, a daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Eckles Stumpf. 
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a wire operator for AG Edwards and Sons brokerage firm.
On September 29, 1956, she married, Donald C. Smittle, with whom she shared over 38 years of marriage, who died July 6, 1995.
She was the last of her immediate family, and in addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, grand mother and great grandmother. Her family was her life. 
Surviving are her sons, Donald (Cheryl) Smittle, of Hickory, Timothy Smittle, of North Strabane; her daughters, Kathi (Louis) Zambotti, of Indiana, Joni (Nick) Kostiou, of Marlton, New Jersey; her grandchildren, Kristine (Matthew) Simon, Donald (Amber) Smittle, Anthony (Sara) Zambotti, Matthew (Amber) Smittle, Jessica Kostiou, George Kostiou; great-grandchildren, Rian, Kolton, Emma, Joshua, Lucas, Attilo, Aza; her nephew, John "P-Wee" Ellis, whom she raised; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Additional visitation will be held 10-11am, Thursday, the time of services, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery.
