David Boyd Dunn, 82, of Strabane, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 6, 2020.
He was born April 8, 1938, in Canonsburg, a son of Augustus and Angela Koss Dunn. David served with Honor in multiple PA National Guard units: Battery A, 2d Missile BN, 176th Art; Co B 1/110th Inf; 107th Field Artillery. Culminating in a 21 year 9 month retiring from HQ Co, 2nd Brigade, 28th Inf Div. He was also employed by Kennametal and in maintenance at Country Meadows in Bridgeville.
He was a member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church and the Boy Scouts of America.
David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and loved spending time with his family.
On February 4, 1957, he married Cassie Vallet Dunn. who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his son, David Duane (Karen) Dunn, of Tennessee; daughter, Kimberly Lynn (Dennis Mounts) McDonough, of Washington; son, Donald Boyd (Juli) Dunn, of Minnesota; daughter, Kelly Celeiste (David Franz) Harvison, of Washington; his brother, Bernard Donald (the late Marian McBride Dunn), of Washington, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Due to uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation and services are private. Arrangements entrusted to Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, with full military honors accorded by the V.F.W., post 191 Honor Guard.
