Carole Jean Gostic, 82, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
She was born October 2, 1940, in Canonsburg, a daughter of William and Bernice Hensel Davidson.
Mrs. Gostic was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, in Houston. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Preschool Teacher for Community Action South West.
Carole was an avid bowler. She is a member of the Washington County Hall of Fame, member and past director of the Washington County Bowling Association, and served as an official for the league. She was an avid Pirate and Steeler fan. Carole was a great singer, dancer and artist.
On September 1, 1960, she married her husband of over 62 years, John Joseph Gostic, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are her sons, John Joseph Gostic, Jr., of Canonsburg, Brett (Heidi) Gostic, of Ellwood City; daughters, Roberta "Robin" Gostic, of Washington, Chylise (Damon Holmes) Gostic, of Canonsburg; brother, William (Kathy) Davidson, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister, Diane (Raymond) Gostic, of Washington; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Mary Kate, and Dale; 3 great grandchildren, Arya, Molly, and Angela; several nieces and nephews.
"And we're just waiting on the potatoes."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Gostic; sisters, Barbara Murdy, and Audrey Davidson.
Friends will be received Saturday, 2-6pm, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Services and burial will take place on Monday, privately. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, @ www.givetochildrens.org in Carole J. Gostic's name.
