Blanche N. Kurnal, 103, of Houston, died Tuesday, February 4, 2020, in Evergreen Assisted Living, where she resided for the past 4 years.
She was born July 13, 1916, in McKees Rocks, a daughter of Lewis and Nellie Yourish Myndus.
On June 21, 1943, in Butler, she married Louis S. Kurnal, who died on January 22, 2002.
She was a member of the former St. Genevieve Parish, St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish, Canonsburg, the VFW #191 Ladies Auxiliary, the Senior Citizens of Chartiers-Houston, and the Friends of the Chartiers-Houston Library. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the cafeteria at Washington and Jefferson College.
Blanche is survived by her daughter, Karen Defibaugh of Washington, her sister, Genevieve Natali, of Butler; grandsons, Dallas (Kelley) Defibaugh, Nathan (Jill) Defibaugh, great grandchildren, Ryder, Quinn, Stella, and Silas Defibaugh, several nieces and nephews, and special caregiver and friend Nancy Clemens.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Defibaugh, brothers Walter, Ralph, and Alfred Mendus; and her sister, Lucille Druga.
Visitation will be held Friday, from 10 to 11:30am, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, Canonsburg, PA.
Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, at noon.
Burial will follow in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
