Anna Veres, 99, of Cranberry Township, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, in Concordia at the Orchard.
She was born December 23, 1921, in Downs, West Virginia, a daughter of Peter and Anna Lakaski Lackwacka.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a line supervisor at Mine Safety Appliances.
Anna was a former firefighter and EMS for Cranberry Township. On August 31, 1940, she married her husband of over 68 years, John S. Veres, who died April 2, 2009.
Surviving are her son, John S. (Carol Murphy) Veres, Jr., of Prospect; daughters, Donna (Ronald Insalaco) Veres, of Florence, South Carolina, Margaret (Raymond) Wetzel, of Cranberry Twp, Deborah (Joseph) Jiblets, of Canonsburg; grandchildren, Michael (Sonya), Karen (Kevin), Wendy (Eloy), Joe, Brandy (Chris), Lisa (Ron), and John; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Maddox, Joshua, Hunter, Jonathan, Randy, and Casey.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Frank and John Lockoski; and her sisters, Mary Pastovich, and Katherine Mazzotta, Anastasia Orsolini.
Arrangements are private, and entrusted to Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Interment will be in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
