Andrew J. Pihiou, 87, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
He was born November 30, 1934, in Canonsburg, a son of Demitrius and Stella Mantalis Pihiou.
Mr. Pihiou was an active member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. He was a member of AHEPA, chapter 156, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, teaching his family how to fish, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
On July 30, 1961, he married his loving wife, Ritsa Kentros Pihiou, with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage, who died January 30, 2015.
Prior to retirement, Andrew worked as an assembler at McGraw Edison.
Surviving are his sons, James (Tricia) Pihiou, of Canton, Michigan, George (Dia) Pihiou, of Canonsburg; very close friend Donna Cefalo; brother and sisters-in law, Audrey Scoumis, Kitty Kentros, Michael (Lana) Kentros, and Gigi Kavalieros; nieces and nephews, James (Debbie) Silvestros, Stanley (Becca) Silvestros, Larry Silvestros, George Silvestros, Sandy Castro, Connie (Bill) Douglas, Maria (Andrew) Poulis, James (Renee) Pihiou, Victoria Scoumis, Constantine Scoumis, George Kentros, Frank (Nicole) Kentros, Michael Kentros, Maria (Ken) Briggs, Michelle (Dustin) Updyke, Kostas Kavalieros, and Victoria Kavalieros, several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Andrew was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Chris Pihiou; his sisters, Alice Angelo and Mary Silvestros; and his granddaughter, Stella Pihiou.
Friends will be received Friday, 3-8pm, in the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 W. McMurray Road, Canonsburg, PA, 15317. Trisagion will be held in the church, Friday at 7pm. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, 10-11am, in the church, followed by services at 11am, with Father George Athanasiou, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, with full military rites accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191, Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, in Andrew Pihiou's name.
