Andrew Hython, 86, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, August 14, 2021.
He was born December 18, 1934, in Canonsburg, a son of Andrew and Catherine Thornton Hython.
Mr. Hython proudly served his country with the United States Army, during Vietnam.
He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Masonic Order F & AM, and James T. Dorsey Lodge #114 of Maryland.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for the military with the Army & Air Force Exchange .
Surviving are his brother, Frederick Orlando (June) Hython, of Cecil Township; his nephew, Robert Sherrow, of Ocoee, Florida; great nephews, Robert Sherrow, III, Calvin Sherrow, and Jeromy Sherrow; his cousins, his family in Germany, and his long-time companion, Della Wise.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hildegard Anna Lauterman, who died January 9, 1983; his step father, John Thornton; brother, John Richard Hython; and his sister, Naomi Sherrow.
Friends will be received Wednesday, 10am-12pm, at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000. Services will be held at noon on Wednesday, in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
