Robert N. McCarthy, 90, of Houston, died Friday, September 21, 2018.
He was born December 1, 1927, in Muse, a son of the late Charles and Mildred Roncovitz McCarthy.
Mr. McCarthy was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a self employed architect. He was passionate about his work and the R. N. McCarthy Architect company served the local area, designing several prominent buildings in Washington County. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects.
On July 19, 1948, he married Flora Irene DeJohn McCarthy, with whom he shared over 68 years of marriage with until her death, July 30, 2016.
Surviving are his son, Kevin McCarthy, and his wife Darla, of Pittsburgh; his daughter, Christine Kaezyk, of Houston, 7 grandchildren, Christina (Matthew) Manges, Charles F. (Kelley) Kaezyk III, Courtney Kaezyk, Allison (Derek) Ford, Captain Emily (Amanda) Bent, Molly (Timothy) Bolton, James Hankins; 5 great grandchildren, Austin, Conner, Mason, Brooks, Kerrigan; God daughter, Phyllis Grace, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday, 2-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Departing prayer services will be held in the funeral home, Wednesday, at 10:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, in St. Patrick Churh, at 11am. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, with full military rites accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post, 191.
