Mary Elizabeth McPherson, 89, of Edgewater, Florida, formerly of Canonsburg, died Friday, March 17, 2017.

She was born May 18, 1927, in Millsboro, a daughter of Lloyd and Lillian Callahan Trump.

Mrs. McPherson was a 1945 graduate from Cecil High School. She worked for the Canon McMillan School district, and retired as the manager of South Central Elementary School Cafeteria. She was active with the Civic Association in Lawrence, where she resided prior to moving to Cecil Henderson Road, in Canonsburg. Winters were spent in Edgewater, Florida, where she eventually lived all year round. While in Florida, she enjoyed water aerobics, gardening, playing bingo, bocce and dominoes, with her friends in Hacienda del Rio. She attended the Edgewater United Methodist Church, while in Florida, and the Fawcett Methodist Church, when in Pennsylvania. On March 1, 1969, she married her loving husband of over 45 years, Samuel H. McPherson, Jr., who died, April 12, 2014.

Surviving are her daughters, Carol Bennett, and her husband, Larry, of Edgewater, FL, Joanne Romano, of Edgewater, FL; brother, Robert Trump, and his wife Angie, of Roanoke, Virginia; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Leola Torino, Helen Louise Trump; brothers, John and Melvin Trump; and her step-son, Samuel "Mack" McPherson, III.

Arrangements entrusted to the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Visitation Wednesday, 6-8pm in the funeral home. Services will be held Thursday, at 1pm, in the Sollon Funeral Home, followed by burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
