Mario Smoke, 89, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

He was born November 14, 1927, in Canonsburg, a son of Joseph and Josephine Mancini Smoke.

On July 2, 1950, in Sulmona, Italy, he married the love of his life, Vincenza Michelina Desiderio Smoke, who passed away September 14, 2005.

Mario was an active member of the community and his church. He started and sang in the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church choir for 25 years. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an agent for Western and Southern Life Insurance Company, and won several awards as agent of the year. Mario had a beautiful love of life, especially towards children and animals.

Surviving are his daughter, Roberta Ahwesh, and her husband Philip, of Bethel Park; grandchildren, Monica and Philip; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Patsy Smoke, and his sister, Maria Smoke, who passed away at the age of two.

There will be no public visitation and services and burial will be in Sulmona, Italy.
