Edward D. Snarey, Sr., 92, of Bridgeville, died Monday, August 6, 2018.
He was born February 16, 1926, in Oakdale , a son of John and Nellie Verner Snarey.
Mr. Snarey was a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, Canonsburg. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191, where he proudly was a member of the Honor Guard. He was a member of the Chartiers Lodge, 297.
He served his country with the United States Army, during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he worked at McGraw-Edison, as a winder.
Surviving are his son, Edward D. Snarey, Jr., of Canonsburg; his daughters, Debra (Donald) Bowsher, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kathleen Snarey, and Kimberly Judah, both of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Shelly Black, Leah Williamson; great grandchildren, Marilyn Black, Mckenna Williamson. Also surviving is his loving companion of 34 years with whom he made his home, Martha Webb, and her children, Brian (Shanna) Webb, and Greg (Sara) Webb.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lou, Ernest, John, and William Snarey; and his sister, Irene Taylor.
Friends will be received Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held Thursday, at 11am, in the funeral home, followed by full military rites accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191, honor guard.
Burial will be private.
