Caroline E. Cessar, 97, of Canonsburg, died Monday, June 12, 2017.

She was born February 1, 1920, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Joseph and Antonia Pericak Turkovich.

Mrs. Cessar was Catholic. She was a dedicated homemaker, enjoyed her family, and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, and sports.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Mary Cessar, of Canonsburg; three brothers, Raymond Turkovich, Elmer Turkovich, Rudy Turkovich, and his wife Catherine, all of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Richard Cessar, Joseph D. (Alicia) Cessar, Brian Cessar, Jacob Cessar, Kimberly Cessar Klinger, Jamie Cessar; three great-grandchildren, David, Sarah, and Jacob; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cessar; two sons, Richard Cessar, and Ralph Cessar; daughter, Arlene Klinger; granddaughter, Alicia Cessar; four brothers, Steve, John, George, Albert; five sisters, Gertrude, Mary, Anna Turkovich, Olga Lorkovic, and Fanny Gergerich.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Departing prayers will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadowlands, at 10am. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
