James T. Ross, Sr., 95, of Canonsburg, died Friday, February 16, 2024.
He was born February 7, 1929, in Canonsburg, a son of John and Mildred Hall Ross.
Mr. Ross was an active member of the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a dairy farmer and drove school bus for Canon- McMillan School District.
He was a member of the North Strabane Grange, the Eighty-Four Chamber of Commerce, and the Washington County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed working on projects, photography, computers, and especially time spent with his family.
Surviving are his son, Ron (Tacy) Ross, of Canonsburg; his daughter, Peggy (Fred) Slezak, of New Alexandria; sister, Janet Mozina, of Maui, Hawaii; 5 grandchildren, Jarrod (Elizabeth) Ross, Aaron (Elizabeth) Ross, Andrew (Jena) Slezak, Tyler (Valerie) Slezak, and Emma Slezak; 7 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Avery, Veronica, Ryleigh, Keira, and Evalynn Ross, and Marshall Slezak; former wife, Patricia Ross; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Ross, Jr.; daughter, Tricia Ross; brothers, John Ross and Robert Ross; sisters, Margaret Hootman, Lois Jean King, Pearl Neill, and Mildred Cowden.
Friends will be received Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10-11am, in the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Road, Canonsburg, PA, 15317. Services will be held Saturday, at 11am in the church, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the Special Olympics, www.specialolympics.org, in Mr. Ross's name.
