William Joseph Boyd, 84, of Lawrence, died Thursday, September 15, 2016.

He was born April 3, 1932, in Lawrence, a son of William James and Katherine Hunter Boyd.

Mr. Boyd proudly served his country with the United States Navy and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 8308, in Lawrence.

He worked for 37 years at Fisher Body, in West Mifflin. Mr. Boyd loved antique cars, going to auctions and flea markets. He especially enjoyed taking care of his yard and the outdoors.

On March 7, 1964, he married Patricia Denk Boyd, with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage, who survives. Also surviving are his son, Jeffrey W. Boyd, of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Deborah (James) Patterson, of Cecil Twp, Lisa Ann (William "Butter") Margerum, of Meadowlands, Billie Jo (David) Smith, of Lancaster, S. Carolina; brother, Andrew Boyd, of Lawrence; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandson, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Cass.

Friends will be received Monday, 2-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Services will be held Tuesday at noon, in the funeral home, with Pastor Jim O'Brien, officiating.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, with full military rites at 1pm.
