Sophia Mahramas, 61, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born March 15, 1955, in Rhodes, Greece, a daughter of Stavros and Artemis Stavrianakis Iliadis.

Sophia was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, where she was active with the Pan Rhodian Society, and the Pan Cretian Society.

She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially loved time spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, John Mahramas and his wife, Jaime of Canonsburg, Valante "George" Mahramas, of Canonsburg; daughter, Artemis Liadis, of Canonsburg; three brothers, Niko (Lucy), Yianni (Stamatia), Elia (Georgia) Iliadis; two sisters, Chryssoula Kokkinou, Ourania (Vasili) Kakkiou; all of Rhodes, Greece, four grandchildren, Michael, Jacob, Sophia, and Michael; several nieces & nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Sophia was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. "Meko" Mahramas, who died, January 11, 1994.

Friends will be received Friday from 3-8pm, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 West McMurray Road, Canonsburg. Trisagion services will be held in the church, on Friday at 7 pm. Additional visitation Saturday, from 10 to 11am, the time of services in the church, with Father George L. Livanos, officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Interment will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Iconography Fund, in Sophia Mahramas's name.
