Loving Husband and Father

Michael Lorenz Maffio, 77, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, December 3, 2016.

He was born September 14, 1939 in Canonsburg, a son of Michael and Loretta Humphrey Maffio.

Mr. Maffio was a member of St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg. He enjoyed cooking, was a loyal Pittsburgh sports fan, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and taking family vacations.

His love and compassion for his family is what brought him the greatest joy in life.

He was a 1957 graduate of Canonsburg High School.

He proudly served his country with the United States Army.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for Zambrano Corporation for 25 years and was a member of local 373 for 50years.

On February 19, 1966, he married his loving wife of over 50 years, Linda K. Krashna Maffio, who survives.

Also surviving are his son, Michael L. Maffio, Jr., of Canonsburg; daughter, Lisa R. Meyer, of Washington; 5 grandchildren, Sarah (Coty) Ferguson, Nicole (Traland) McCamey, Dominic Maffio, James Meyer; great-grandchild, Sophia; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Anthony Maffio.

Friends will be received Tuesday 2-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Departing prayer service will be held Wednesday, at 11:30am, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at noon, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
