Linda L. Bell Wachtler, 67, of Washington, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with lupus.

She was born July 12, 1949, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late William and Dorothy Lewis Bell.

Linda was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church.

Prior to her retirement, she worked at Sears, Kroger and Avon.

She was active with the Chartiers-Houston Library, and volunteered at the Canonsburg General Hospital.

She loved animals and especially spending time with her family.

Surviving are her son, Matthew Wachtler, and his wife, Mary, of Houston; daughter, Alana Wachtler, of Washington, brothers, Gerald Bell, of Washington, Randall Bell, and his wife Kathy, of Washington; two grandchildren, Noah and Faith Wachtler; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 37 years, Leonard M. Wachtler Jr., who died March 26, 2016, and her sister, Patricia Bell.

Friends will be received Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Services will be held in the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., Friday, at 11am, with Pastor Don Coleman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to Chartiers-Houston Library in Linda's name.
