John Franklin Moon, 79, of Charleroi, formerly of Eighty Four and Monongahela, died Friday, September 15, 2017, in his home.
He was born August 12, 1938, in Monongahela, the third son of Clyde and Elizabeth Peto Moone.
Jack, as he was known, was a U.S. Army veteran. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a self employed carpenter and builder. He enjoyed trips to the casino, and especially spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his sons, Jason Moon, of Bethel Park, Justin Moon, of Pittsburgh, Matthew Moon, of Philadelphia; sister, Kathryn Yevcinez, of Louisiana; brothers, Clyde Moon, and his wife Charlotte, of Uniontown, Donald Moon, of Brownsville, Frank Moone, and his wife Sheree Daugherty, of Pittsburgh, and Robert Moon, of Pittsburgh.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moon was preceded in death by his wife, Jane L. Moon.
A celebration of John's life will be held in the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, Canonsburg, Saturday, September 30, 2017. Friends are welcome from 10-11am.
