Edgar Cheverine, 84, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
He was born September 25, 1932, in Canonsburg, a son of Sisto and Adeline DeMeo Cheverine.
Edgar proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish, American Legion, post 902, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191, where he actively served on the Honor Guard.
Prior to his retirement in 1993, he worked as an automotive foreman at Western Center.
On June 19, 1954, he married his loving wife of over 62 years, Dolores A. Simko Cheverine, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are several nieces and nephews.
Edgar was the last of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Louis, and Dominic Cheverine; and his sisters, Laura Spadaro and Edith Hartley.
Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191, Honor Guard, will hold a Eulogy in the funeral home, Monday at 10:15am.
Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home Monday at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, Monday at 11am.
Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, with full military honors accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191.
