Claudeen Susan Altieri, 68, of Cecil, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017.

She was born May 16, 1949, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Thomas and Inez Holveck Backner. She was raised by and lived her formative years with her grandparents, Ross and Ina Jeffers. Her grandparents were a very important part of her life.

Prior to her retirement, she worked in retail sales at Gimbels. Claudeen was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed collecting dolls and Christmas ornaments.

On June 7, 1969, she married her husband, who has been her companion for over 50 years, Gerald "Jerry" Altieri, who survives.

Also surviving are her son, Gerald T. "Jerry" Altieri, of West View; daughter, Kimberly Hunt, and her husband James, of Canonsburg; grandchildren, Jesse and Grant Altieri, and Willow Hunt.

Friends will be received Friday, 4-8pm, in the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA, 15317, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

A departing prayer service will be held in the funeral home, Saturday, at 9am, followed by Liturgy in the St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Canonsburg, at 9:30am, with Father Joseph Raptosh, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
